Impending boredom...

The school year finishes here next Thursday, only 6 working days left on my current employment contract, I could've stayed on in my EA role for next year but by the end of the holidays in early August I should have my Colorado teaching license, so I have opted to be unemployed for the next few months and then try to get a teaching job for the next school year - even if it is just substitute teaching initially. I can't even apply until I get my license in a couple of months though.

The licensure process here is certainly very slow, it takes 21 weeks for the fingerprint criminal records checks to be done by the Colorado Bureau of Investigations. In Australia the criminal records check only took about a month (but none of mine ever even took that long).

So I am beginning to comtemplate 2+ mths of boredom. After waiting 3mths for my work authorisation permit when we first arrived in the USA, I am not keen to be unemployed again!

But at least this time it is nice weather so I can go hiking, cycling etc. I have already signed up to do a couple of hikes with a weekday women's hiking group, so that is a start. Brett and I are also planning on doing a road trip for a week, maybe to Salt Lake City, Utah. And at the end of June, Matt, Brett & I are all going to San Francisco for 5 days to see the Pride Parade and explore Chinatown :)
