My contribution to tradition...
At the school where I have been working for the last 3 mths the grade 6 students go on an end of year camp every year into the Rocky Mountains. Then to memorialize the occasion they design a banner to hang in the schools gym. this has been done since 1978!
Most of the banners are quilt-like and are sewn by mothers who volunteer or are roped into
the task, but this year they couldn't find a sewer to make the banner. So, you guessed it, I am making the banner. So I may not be working at the school next year but the banner I sew for the grade 6s will hang in the gym for many years to come.
I don't have the design yet because the grade 6 student whose design was chosen, then lost the design, and I spent half of yesterday morning unsuccessfully trying to track it down in the trash from before school care, so she is redrawing the design for me. So already this project has offered up some challenges LOL. But I know it is a picture of a moose.
You can guarantee I will blog about the progress of the quilt over summer break ;)
