Sometimes I can almost forget I live in the USA

Sometimes I can almost forget I live in the USA until I pass one of these on the side of the road:



It is a wake up call that brings a grin to my face every time, and barely a day goes by when I don't drive past one of these signs. There was one outside the car park of the school that I worked at until recently.

I am much more used to seeing this:



Although I saw many a kangaroo on  Australian roads in my lifetime, I have yet to see an antelope crossing a road here but I am sure it'll happen eventually. What I am not sure about is what my reaction will be. Will I shit myself or snap a picture LOL.

So these two signs in my mind represent the expat experience for an Aussie living in Denver. So many things are basically the same but still different in a small way. Just enough to keep reminding me I didn't start my life here. But I do feel like i belong here at this phase in my life.
