Just another Thursday on summer break...

The view from the carpark
Today it was my regular weekday women's hiking meet up, we went to White ranch Open Space near Golden Colorado, I did a 3.5 mile hike amongst this amazing scenery. On a weekly basis this time spent with the group hiking various Rocky Mountain front range trails reminds me that I live in heaven on Earth.

That is me on the left

But the best part of hiking around Golden is the excuse to go into Golden afterwards!

This is the center of Golden and these two unassuming little shops are the quilt shop and antique shop, I love them and check them out whenever I am in Golden. There is lots of fun stuff to admire and laugh about:

 Like salt and pepper shakers
 of every imaginable shape

This little set of salt and pepper gems even came with a cookie jar (and something else) to match, perfect for Thanksgiving if you have a spare $65!

This teapot fell into the 'to laugh about' category rather than the 'to admire' category! Hideous or what.

This ugly little dog is actually a money box that costs $175! Seriously that is no joke!

So I hear you ask yourself "What couldn't she leave behind today?"

OMG a vintage toy hand driven sewing machine:
How adorable!

I love dogs and so this little dog statuette had to come home to my dining room!

And with all those salt and pepper shakers who could resist starting a collection:

Left: dogs                   Middle: colonial couple          Right: glass Cocker Spaniels
The only problem with starting a collection is that you have to add to it LOL

  1. What great vintage treasures. I loved it the last time in Colorado. Went to various shops. HOWEVER, THE ALTITUDE AND I DID NOT AGREE. DO NOT KNOW HOW YOU CAN HIKE IN IT.
