Fall Musings...

It is autumn here and the leaves are definitely beginning to change and fall:

There is a chill in the air and very occasional snow. Tomorrow it will be a high of 2c and we will probably get some snow, but today is a balmy maximum of 7c LOL

The shops are full of pumpkins and orange home decorator pieces to celebrate fall. But I think they go a little overboard with their use of pumpkins in food at times here are some newspaper ads from last week:

Really pumpkin donuts???!

And then there's McDonalds and Starbucks getting in on the act:

We have joined in on the act of course, I have a turkey tablecloth on the table atm with my pair of pilgrim salt and pepper shakers:

And until I cooked pumpkin soup last night we had a fall platter full of gourds on the table too:

So I guess life is becoming Americanized around here (see I even use z when spelling words occasionally) but we haven't started wearing cammo and 'huntn' yet so there won't be any wildlife on the table with our turkey at Thanksgiving later this month LOL.

I am thankful for my parents, siblings, husband, children and dogs as well as the luck we have had to be happy, healthy and financially stable. What are you thankful for this month??

  1. I'm a big pumpkin fan! My sister-in-law had a Pumpkin Party at her house again this year. There were quit a few pumpkin items on the table. I made pumpkin bread (it turned out really good). The best part was the pumpkin pie for desert! Yes, I really like pumpkin pie!
